How does PhotoSweep find duplicate photos?

PhotoSweep uses advanced on-device image analysis to compare your photos. It detects exact duplicates and visually similar photos, helping you keep only the best shots.

Will PhotoSweep delete my photos permanently?

No. When you clean up photos with PhotoSweep, they are moved to the Recently Deleted album in your Photos app. You have 30 days to recover them before they are permanently removed by iOS.

Why does PhotoSweep need access to my photo library?

PhotoSweep needs photo library access to scan and analyze your photos for duplicates and similar images. All processing happens entirely on your device — your photos are never uploaded anywhere.

How do I restore my purchases?

Go to Settings > Restore Purchases. Your subscription will be restored automatically if you are signed in with the same Apple ID.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Go to Settings > Manage Subscription, or open the Settings app on your device > Apple ID > Subscriptions > PhotoSweep.

The scan seems to take a long time.

Scan time depends on the size of your photo library. For large libraries (10,000+ photos), the first scan may take a few minutes. Subsequent scans are faster as results are cached.
